Biography

BIO

Denjirō Ōkōuchi (大河内傳次郎) was born Masuo Ōbe (大辺勇) in Buzen, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1898.

He made his film debut in 1926 for Nikkatsu, at the age of 28. One of film director Akira Kurosawa’s original stock actors, Ōkōuchi appeared in 100 feature films through 1961.

He died of stomach cancer in 1962. Ōkōuchi was 64 years old.
