Biography
BIO
Franklin Pangborn was born in Newark, New Jersey, in 1889.
He made his Broadway debut in 1911, at the age of 22. Pangborn appeared in another 6 productions through 1925.
He served in the Army during World War I and did not appear in his first film until 1926, at the age of 37, for Universal Pictures.
Pangborn went on to appear in more than 220 films. He retired from film in 1949, but did appear in a couple of features during the 1950s. His last film appearance was in 1957.
He died after surgery for a malignant tumor in Santa Monica, California, in 1958. Pangborn was 69 years old.
