Biography

BIO

Keiko Tsushima | 津島恵子 was born Naoko Mori on Tsushima Island, Japan, in 1926.

She made her film debut in 1947, at the age of 21, for Shochiku Films.   Her most notable motion picture was the classic Seven Samurai (1954).   After appearing in more than 50 motion pictures, her last film role was 2002.

In 1957, Tsushima married Iwao Mori (1899-1979) who became a vice president at Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS).

Tsushima died of stomach cancer in Tokyo, in 2012, at the age of 86.
