Biography

BIO

M. Emmet Walsh was born Michael Emmet Walsh in Ogdensburg, New York, in 1935, and raised in northern Vermont.   His grandfather, father and brother were U.S. customs agents.

Walsh debuted on Broadway in 1969, at the age of 34, and had already appeared on television by 1968.

His first feature film role was in the classic urban Western Midnight Cowboy (1969).   A busy supporting actor, Walsh has gone on to appear in more than 100 feature films.   He is also equally in demand on television with roles in more than 100 series and movies.
