BIO

Onslow Stevens was born Onslow Ford Stevenson in Los Angeles, in 1902.   His theatrical family was a fixture at the Pasadena Playhouse and included actor father Houseley Stevenson (1879-1953), film costume designer Edward Stevenson (1906-1968) and film production manager/editor Houseley Stevenson Jr. (1914-1997).

Stevens began acting at the Pasadena Playhouse as a young man before making his film debut for RKO Radio Pictures in 1931 at the age of 29.   He became a busy supporting actor, appearing in more than 85 motion pictures through 1962.   Chronic alcoholism dampened his later career.

  4. Marley Shofner (m. 1959-1960), divorced;
  5. Rose Heit (1961-1977);
