Biography
BIO
Roscoe Karns was born in San Bernardino, California, in 1891.
He made his film debut in 1915, at the age of 24, in a short-reel for Lubin Manufacturing. Karns appeared as a supporting actor in silent films throughout the 1920s and made the transition to "talkies" with a fast-talking style that ensured his continued success.
During the early 1950s, Karns starred in the popular television series Rocky King, Detective (1951-1954).
Aftermore than 130 feature films, his last picture was released in 1964.
Karns married Mary Fraso in 1920. The couple raised two children. One became the actor Todd Karns (1921-2000).
He died in Los Angeles, in 1970, at the age of 78.
