Biography
BIO
Carl Harbord was born in Salcombe, Devon, England, in 1908.
He made his Broadway debut in the American tour of the English play Conversation Piece in 1934, at the age of 25. He appeared in another five Broadway productions through 1957.
Harbord made his British film debut in 1928, at the age of 20, for British Instructional Films. He appeared in another 16 British features through 1937 and, after the beginning of Britain’s entry into World War II in 1939, returned to the U.S. and headed for Hollywood.
He signed with Warner Bros. and appeared in his first U.S. film in 1942. Harbord appeared in 10 more Hollywood features through 1949.
In the 1950s, he primarily did guest actor work in various television series.
Harbord died in Los Angeles, in 1958, at the age of 50.
