Biography

BIO

Charles Dingle was born in Wabash, Indiana, in 1888.

He made his Broadway debut in 1928, at the age of 40.   He went on to appear in another 12 Broadway productions through 1954.

Dingle made his film debut in a short-reel for Warner Bros. in 1937. His big break in film came late in his career when he was hired to reprise his Broadway stage role in The Little Foxes (1941).   His film career blossomed and he went on to appear in 40 feature films. His last film role was in 1955.

Beginning in 1950, Dingle appeared primarily in television guest roles.

He married Dorothy White in 1916 and the couple raised two children.

Dingle died in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 1956.   He was 68 years old.
