Biography

BIO

Christian Marquand was born in Marseille, France, in 1927.   One of six children, his brother was the actor Serge Marquand (1930-2004) and his sister is the writer/director Nadine Trintignant.

He made his film debut in 1946 at the age of 19.   By the mid-1950s, he was starring as a romantic lead.   Marquand would begin appearing in mostly Hollywood films by the early 1960s.

He appeared in more than 50 movies through 1985.

Marquand married the actress Tina Aumont (1946-2006) in 1963.   The couple divorced in 1966.

He died of complications from Alzheimer’s Disease in Ivry-sur-Seine, Val-du-Marne, France in 2000 at the age of 73.
