Biography

BIO

Frederic Forrest was born Frederic Fenimore Forrest Jr. in Waxahachie, Texas, in 1936.   His father was a furniture store and wholesale greenhouse owner.

After graduating from Texas Christian University with a major in Communications, Forrest moved to New York City and soon began appearing on the Off-Broadway stage.

Forrest later moved to Los Angeles and made his television acting debut in 1967 followed by his first film debut in 1969 at the age of 33.

He received an Academy Award nomination for his supporting role in The Rose (1979) and appeared in 44 films as well as several television series through 2006.

Forrest married twice:

  1. Nancy Whittaker, 1960-1963, divorced;
  2. Marilu Henner, actress, 1980-1982, divorced;
