Biography

BIO

Hamilton Luske was born Hamilton Luton Luske in Chicago, Illinois, in 1903.

He joined Walt Disney Productions in 1931 as an animator.   He received his first animation credit for a Mickey Mouse short-reel released in 1933.   By 1936, he had directed his first cartoon short-reel for Disney.

Luske spent his entire career at Walt Disney.   He directed more than 30 pictures through 1968 and received an Academy Award for Special Visual Effects for his work on Mary Poppins (1964).

Luske died in Los Angeles, California, in 1968, at the age of 64.
