Biography

BIO

John Peverall was born in London, England, in 1931.

He received his start in film as an assistant director in 1958, at the age of 27, for G.H.W Productions.   Peverall was credited as an assistant director in more than 30 pictures through 1974.

He was also an associate producer for the British television series Arthur of the Britons (1972-1973).

Peverall was hired by producer Michael Deeley, then at British Lion Films, as an associate producer in 1974.  He remained as an associate producer through 1980, credited with 4 releases, with one notable exception.

Director/producer Michael Cimino was running over budget and shooting schedule for The Deer Hunter (1978) and Peverall was sent in Deeley’s stead to bring the production back under control.   He was given producer credit for his efforts.

Peverall married Tessa Schneider in 1955, although the couple later divorced.

He was also married to the actress Hersha Parady (1945- ) and the couple had a son.
