Biography
BIO
Russell Simpson was born Russell McCaskill Simpson in Danville, California, in 1880.
He became a stage actor, making his Broadway debut in 1909, at the age of 29. Simpson made his motion picture debut under the direction of Cecil B. DeMille in 1914.
A character actor, Simpson appeared in more than 225 motion pictures in a career that lasted 5 decades. His last film role was in 1959.
Simpson married Gertrude Aller in 1910 and they raised two children.
He died in Los Angeles, California, in 1959. He was 79 years old.
