Biography

BIO

Walter Connolly was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1887.

In 1916, he made his Broadway debut and appeared in 22 productions through 1935.

His first silent feature was for Schubert Film in 1914, at the age of 27.   Connolly appeared in one more feature the following year and then did not return to the medium until after the advent of “talkies” in 1930.   By this time, he was 43 years old and would specialize as a character actor portraying wealthy businessmen.

He appeared in 47 films between 1930 and 1939.

Connolly married the stage actress Nedda Harrigan in 1923.   They raised one child.

He died of a stroke in 1940, in New York City.   He was 53 years old.
